Famous Tasmanian softwood timber. Yellow colour enriching with time, characteristic odour and taste, very durable.
Texture very fine an even, straight grain, growth rings very closely spaced.
Exceptionally good boat building timber, very easy to work, turns well, carves well.
Is endemic to south-western Tasmania.
