A large Western Australian hardwood, grows to 30-40 metres tall by up to 2 metres diameter, dark red, fairly dense, very durable, highly resistant to decay.  One of the more common eucalyptus species of south west Western Australia. Was used for general construction, sleepers, piles, poles, flooring, panelling and joinery. Now better used as a fine furniture timber.
