ned's plats, cutting/serving/cheese boards
indeco's fine, non-laminated,cutting/serving/cheese board has been made in the European tradition, spiced with an Aussie (Australian) flavour! Each of these Ned's plats, cutting, serving boards, has been made from a single piece of specially selected quarter-sawn timber which is harder wearing and helps reduce any tendency to 'cup'.
indeco's Ned's Plat also makes an ideal toast board.
They may be washed (although never soak) without fear of de-lamination.
This article will provide some insight into the philosophy behind these lightweight but very durable boards.
Boards cut from a single piece of timber are increasingly becoming a rarity; treasure your Ned's Plat!
From time to time we are able to obtain salvaged, locally grown, exotic species such as sycamore-maple, European ash, London Plane, Elm ......
These timbers make excellent cutting boards. Please contact us regarding availability.
Please go to our cutting/serving/cheese board FAQ for more information about different aspects of cutting boards.
The outline of this cutting/serving/cheese board was inspired by Sidney Nolan's images of Ned Kelly; infamous Australian bushranger of the 19th Century.
To butter the toast on, slice the onion, crush the garlic, place the cheese or whack the blowfly with.
